Kelly Rae Burns was born in Austin, Texas in 1983. She received her Bachelors in Studio Art from University of Texas, Austin in 2009. While in her undergraduate studies, she became deeply interested in the human spirit and it’s interaction with nature. She also attended Oxbow School of Art in 2008 and Contemporary Arts Center Residency in 2011. Her primary medium is gouache and graphite on a heavyweight watercolor or printmaking paper.

She currently lives in Houston, TX with her husband, baby and their pit bull.
